ArtPrize "Collaboration Youth Award"

Our rock fish won 1st prize in our category! 

The kids won the "Collaboration Youth Award at ArtPrize! This award is the top award in our category with $5,000 dollars attached! 

ArtPrize is open and the Hudsonville Public Schools Art Program is participating in ArtPrize this year! This includes all of the students that I teach at Bauer and Forest Grove Elementary! We hit the ground running on the first day of school with acrylic paint!

This collaborative art project is based on the book, Only One You, by Linda Kranz. It celebrates the uniqueness of each child within a larger “school of fish.” Each child’s brightly painted fish rock will join the “school of fish,” swimming together, and symbolizing our children entering the world. Altogether, around 6,000 rocks will be painted by Hudsonville art students in grades K-12. Stop out and enjoy the art!

Biggby Art Show

We just finished the Biggby art contest! Here are some pictures! The art was from three Hudsonville elementary schools. Bauer, Forest Grove and South Elementary!

Biggby Coffee Art Contest

The 5th Grade Surrealistic Creature project was such a blast that our creatures are traveling to Biggby! Students voted 8 of our 19 creatures into the show and now we need your help!

Please stop by the Biggby coffee shop on 32nd Street, north of 196 and vote for your favorite creature! The owner will be giving out a prize for the most votes!

The contest runs from March 17-23, 2016 .

Art Show 2015!

The art show is coming up next week! The Forest Grove and Bauer Elementary artist reception is Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Hudsonville City Hall! If your student has a piece in the show they have already brought home a special invitation telling you which piece is in the show! The show is open to the public so everyone is welcome to attend! The 14th annual Hudsonville Public Schools districtwide art show is now hanging in Hudsonville City Hall! Everyone is invited to come see the show!  You can visit the Hudsonville Art Program website for more details!

NEW District Art Website!

I have been working on a district level Hudsonville Public Schools art website!  You can visit it here. At this point it's still a work in progress but I'm so excited I can't help but give you an early peak!  This website will help community members see what we do in the art program K-12.

Art Show 2013

Please bring your young artists to the Hudsonville Public Schools K-12 Student Art Show at its new location: Hudsonville City Hall! The show will run from Monday, April 22nd through Thursday, April 25th. City Hall will be open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. School receptions will take place in the evenings from 5:30PM to 7:30 PM. The artist reception for Forest Grove and Bauer is on April 24th, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Everyone is invited to attend the reception and congratulate our young artists! The Hudsonville City Hall is located at 3275 Central Blvd. Hudsonville, MI 49426.
